The ISO 27001 standard was developed by the International Organization for Standardization, headquartered in Geneva, which develops global standards for quality, safety, and efficiency. The 27001 standard defines criteria for an effective information security management system (ISMS) that ensures the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of data. It covers not only IT, but also personnel, processes, infrastructure, and the management of cyberattacks.
